Air Fryer Burgers and Fries

In a small mixing bowl add

  • 2 TBSP bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dash of nutmeg
Stir it about and then add
  • 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 lb hamburger
and mix in. The burgers range from bready to meaty depending on how much hamburger you use. When mixed (but not puréed) separate into 1/4 lb balls, form into burgs and push a thumbprint into the middle of each. Or just use store bought, but make sure you have them thawed out.

Once the meat is sorted out, go to the pantry and get
  • 1 pound potatoes (probably three) or two baking russets
Wash, scrub and remove any gross bits but do not peel. Cut them in half longwise. Then, with the skin up and fleshy side down, cut each of those halves in half again longwise. Hold the two quarters together so they support each other and make another couple of cuts longwise so you end up with 1/8 potato wedges.

Get a medium-sized bowl and add
  • a glug or two of canola oil
Add your wedges and shake it all about until they are coated with a bit of oil. Then sprinkle on
  • salt
  • pepper
Then prepare your toppings.
  • sliced tomatoes
  • lettuce
  • cheese
  • pickles
  • ketchup
  • relish
And, of course, buns.

Turn on the air fryer, put the tray of hamburgers in the middle and give it

4 minutes at 400

Then flip the burgs if you can. They may be welded to the fryer tray. In any event move them to the bottom, and put two trays of wedges in on top, skin side down and turn on the fryer for

12 minutes at 400

Switch the wedge trays and flip the burgers. Then another

12 minutes at 400

If you want toasted buns give them a minute or two in the fryer. Enjoy!
